2017 Pennies for Paitients 
SDHS students and staff raised $1615.11 for the Pennies for Patients to help support the Leukemia Lymphoma Society this year, and have a five year total of $4,805.82! Big thanks to everyone!!

FFA Flower Sale!!!
The time has come for some Springtime fun! Ready to plant a few beautiful flowers before Easter? Perhaps you just want to impress your neighbors with some new summer annuals this year! No matter your reasons for wanting some beautiful flowers we have you covered here at South Decatur High School! Come by any day this week from 3:30 to 4:00 PM to pick as many 4" pots as you'd like for $1.00 a pot! Flower baskets are also available for $10.00. 

Adult Center Panel Discussions

Tori Nash, Justin Bates, and Jacob Johnson represented South Decatur's Class of 2017 at the Greensburg Adult Center's April meeting. South Decatur's seniors enjoyed a panel discussion with Decatur County's seniors. Topics of discussion included politics, future plans, and social media. Thank you Tori, Justin, and Jacob for representing South Decatur well in our community.

Take the My Energy Kit Challenge
Our school is taking the My Energy Kit Challenge and has a goal to save at least 20,000 kilowatt-hours of energy this school year. We’ll reach this goal when at least 100 families at our school sign up for a FREE Energy Kit and use it to make their homes energy-efficient. These FREE kits from Duke Energy contain items like LED bulbs, faucet aerators, and other useful gadgets that can make a big difference toward saving energy at home. If we can meet the challenge, our school will automatically win $250. Take the My Energy Kit Challenge and sign up for your FREE kit at MyEnergyKit.org or call 1-855-386-9548.

Harmony 3 Access
Harmony has now been updated to the most current version, Harmony 3 Family Access. Harmony 3 brings some great features to parents and students. One being, parents will have one login for multiple students. To gain access you should have received an email with an access code. Please follow the directions on the email to access Harmony 3. Harmony 2 will no longer be available. If you did not receive an email it may be because your email has not been updated in our system. If this is the case please email Jill Richards (jrichardss@decaturco.k12.in.us) in the guidance office and she will get your information updated. Students and parents will have different logins. To add multiple students to your account, you will need the access code for each child sent to your email.

South Decatur Jr./Sr, High School Achievements 

2017 Pennies for Paitients

2017 Boiler Tech Competition Results: 
       Twenty-two South Decatur students participated against ten other schools for bragging rights in this years’ Boiler Tech boilertech2Challenge.  The “Find It” team placed third.  Team members were: Charlie Hamilton, Justin Bates, Zane Brown, and Brenan Cooper.  The entire South team placed 2nd in the Social Media posting, with Brooke Helms winning the most creative video award.  Mrs. Fox and Mrs. Smith placed 1st in the Teacher’s Challenge.  Other students competing for South Decatur included:   Kory Mullins, Garrett Bates, Aiden Brown, Kenny Stier, Nick Benge, Nathan Benge, Will Smiley, Daniel Mapes, Eli Watkins, Victoria Nash, Thomas Schwering, Kirby Owens, Olivia Fry, Olivia Clarkson, Vanessa Veerkamp, Stacy Fox, and Annie Gant. SDHS Students Travel to England and Scottland 
Over the 2017 Spring Break 7 SDHS students and 3 parents traveled to England and Scotland with SD teachers Kay Smith, Karen Hudson, and Don Hudson.

South Decatur Archery: 
archery2The high school team placed 7th in the NASP Indiana State Tournament March 11th 2017 with a score of 3317/3600 in the bulls eye competition. The team had 163 bullseyes. Zach Ferris finished 8th in his division, Wyatt Gatewood finished 6th in his division, and Lana Bell finished 9th in her division.

3D State: The high school team finished 2nd in the state overall with Delanie Diekhoff being the top shooter overall in the state! The team consists of Cody Diekhoff, Delanie Diekhoff, Hunter Gatewood, Wyatt Gatewood, Ethan Gatewood, Zach Ferris, Jacob Ferris, Hunter Waters, Arin Hermann, Erynn Dyer, Nathan Kroger, Abigail Collins, and Nathan Fairchild. The team earned an automatic spot at the NASP Nationals Tournament in Louisville, KY May 13th.
