Our School
Welcome to South Decatur Junior and Senior High. We are a comprehensive high school in the heart of Indiana serving the families of south Decatur County. Situated halfway between Indianapolis and Cincinnati, our school offers students engaging, personalized programming; a curriculum geared toward college and career readiness; and a fully integrated technology initiative, all in a supportive and caring community.
Project Lead the Way
Project Lead the Way, our STEM initiative, is reinventing the way students experience learning. Through project-based inquiry and real world problem solving, students enjoy learning new things and applying what they know to problem solve in their community and around the world.
Advanced Placement
Advanced Placement (AP) courses are college-level classes students take while still in high school. Some AP courses are also dual credit courses. Dual credit courses give high school students the opportunity to earn both high school and college credits simultaneously. These courses can be taught by high school or college staff either at SDHS, at a local college, or online.
Career and Technical Education
Our Career Technical Education program (CTE) engages students in dynamic, hands-on learning experiences that result in the mastery of career and technological skills (and in some cases nationally-recognized certifications) while still in high school. These courses prepare our students for the workforce and teach them how to market themselves to potential employers. We offer CTE courses through Columbus Area Career Connection (C4).
